Locations Portal showing live driver pins across a Karachi map

Locations Portal

A Karachi logistics operator was running dispatch on phone calls and guesswork. We built a live map portal that shows every driver and order in real time — so the dispatch desk finally has ground truth.

The Challenge

Dispatch had no idea where drivers actually were. Tracking a delivery meant calling the driver, and answering 'where's my order?' meant calling several. With dozens of vehicles moving across Karachi, the operation ran blind and customers were left waiting.

Our Approach

We built a single live portal that plots every driver on a map and refreshes their position continuously, paired with a status table that shows exactly when each driver last reported in — down to the second — so the whole fleet and its orders sit on one screen.

What We Actually Built

One screen that turned a fleet of phone calls into a live, glanceable operation.

Live Driver Map

Every driver appears as a pin on a live city map and moves in near real-time, so dispatch can see the whole fleet — and exactly who is closest to the next pickup — at a glance.

  • Continuous position updates plotted across the full service area
  • Per-driver pins with code, name, and contact for instant dispatch

Real-Time Status Table

A synced table lists every driver with the time since their last location report — so a stalled or offline vehicle stands out immediately instead of being discovered hours later.

  • 'Last updated' timestamps accurate to the second for every driver
  • Order-locations view to track where deliveries actually are

Key Results

Dispatch stopped guessing and started seeing.

Real-time

Fleet visibility

Every driver's position refreshes continuously, replacing a desk full of phone check-ins with one live map.

Drivers + orders, one map

Built for the Dispatch Desk

Map and status table side by side, last-updated to the second — so a dispatcher can spot a stalled driver the moment it happens and reroute the nearest vehicle.

Operations Lead

Dispatch, Logistics Client

"Before this, finding a driver meant five phone calls. Now I open one screen and I can see the entire fleet. It changed how the dispatch desk runs."

Client Collaboration

We sat with the dispatch team to learn how they actually work — what they call, what they chase, what slows them down — and built the portal around the way a dispatcher thinks, not a generic tracking dashboard.

"They watched us run a shift before writing a line of code. The portal ended up matching exactly how we work the floor."

"Every iteration was something our team could use the same day. It never felt like a project that lived in a slide deck."
